Top Destinations in Southern Ontario to Visit by Helicopter
Oct 3 2017
Have you ever traveled via helicopter before? If you haven’t, then I highly recommend that you do! It is perhaps one of the most exhilarating feelings in the world…at least for me. I recently had the pleasure of flying in one of our helicopters to New York City with our Helicopter Chief Pilot, Sean Carscadden. Sensational! I thought “Where else can we go in this bad boy?”, so I asked Sean to put together a list of his favourite destinations in Southern Ontario to visit by helicopter. Here they are (in alphabetical order):
Bigwin Island Golf Club (Baysville)
An exclusive 520 acre Island paradise with over 26,000 ft of majestic shoreline on gorgeous Lake of Bays, which is becoming the most sought after lake in Muskoka. Enjoy glorious lake vistas and utmost privacy, complimented by resort style services and world-class golf. Experience an unique island venue for your banquet or wedding. Bigwin welcomes corporate golf outings!
Casino Rama (Orillia)
Stay, relax, dine, play, rock out and explore all there is to offer in this northern playground. Casino Rama Resort offers the perfect retreat from the everyday with all the amenities of a full entertainment destination. It’s a place that fuses adventure and excitement with the easygoing character of cottage life and truly is a place pretty much exactly like nowhere else.
Henry’s Fish Restaurant (Frying Pan Island)
Located on Frying Pan Island in the Sans Souci area on the coast of Georgian Bay, Henry’s is known for its famous fish and chips including battered and pan fried Pickerel dinners. Enjoy your freshly caught fish while overlooking magnificent yachts parked at the docks and beautiful Georgian Bay. Henry’s is accessible only by air or by water and is a meal not to be missed!
Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa (Cambridge)
Entering its 28th year in hospitality, Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa has always been known for incredible Five-Diamond dining experiences, exquisite accommodations and storybook architecture. Now after years of development and obsessive planning, Langdon Hall is opening the doors to its latest addition which includes a one of a kind event venue designed for celebrations for 80-120 guests and meeting events for up to 75 participants, a new spa, and eight luxurious guest rooms.
Vineland Estates Winery (Vineland)
Open all year, Vineland Estates Winery is not only the home of fine wine and cuisine, but an unmatched touring facility and wine country destination. At this picturesque venue, extensive vineyards on the bench of the Niagara Escarpment provide the stunning backdrop to a unique cluster of carefully restored historic buildings.
If you have no particular destination in mind, why not take a helicopter for a sightseeing tour over Toronto and Niagara Falls? And with Autumn on its way, now would be a great time to get an aerial view of all the fall colours coming in!!
