    AVIDRONE

Chartright welcomes AVIDRONE Aerospace Inc., a Canadian drone technology company, as its newest tenant at Hangar 53 at the Region of Waterloo International Airport (CYKF).

AVIDRONE Aerospace designs and manufactures fully automated unmanned flying drone systems for commercial applications globally.  AVIDRONE’s task-specific drones enable entirely new capabilities by carrying a wide range of high definition sensors, providing automated package delivery, or lift virtually anything into the air.  AVIDRONE makes drones useful and easy to operate for non-aviation industries, adapting its secure, in-house developed autopilot technology to drone aircraft weighing up to 900lb combined with high-endurance, long range flight.

“We are pleased to welcome AVIDRONE to our facility and excited with the prospect of witnessing them press the frontiers of unmanned flight”, said Adam Keller, President of Chartright Air Group.

“All of the AVIDRONE team is pleased to join the Chartright hangar facility, with a new research and development office and manufacturing space,” said Scott Gray, Founder & CEO Avidrone Aerospace Inc.  “Being located at a high-end hangar with neighbours in the commercial aviation industry is important to AVIDRONE’s positioning as a leading unmanned aircraft company.  I’m excited to grow our business at Chartright and within our community here at the Waterloo-Wellington International airport.”

Chartright welcomes Kitchener Aero, one of Canada’s premiere avionics sales, service, installation, and Special Missions facilities, as its new tenant in Hangar 53 at the Region of Waterloo International Airport (CYKF).

Kitchener Aero, founded by the late Barry Aylward, is celebrating 40 years of continuous support to the business, regional and general aviation community. They provide a wide variety of aircraft avionics services, specializing in single and multi-engine aircraft from general aviation to smaller corporate and commercial operators.

“We are pleased to welcome such an established and capable organization as Kitchener Aero to our facility,” said Adam Keller, President of Chartright.

Kitchener Aero’s extensive knowledge base in avionics sales, maintenance, repairs, installation, and manufacturing, make them uniquely qualified to provide fully customizable end-to-end solutions. Kitchener Aero and sister company Mid-Canada Mod Center perform avionics installations and modifications on well over 100 aircraft per year, ranging from light general-aviation types to Challenger, Gulfstream, Dash 8, ATR and Boeing products.

“As the business model of our Kitchener based operation evolves to the next logical step, we have decided that it is time to relocate from our existing Hangar 69 location to one more suited to the aircraft and projects that we will be undertaking in the years to come,” said Bill Arsenault, president of Kitchener Aero. “Moving into the Chartright Air Kitchener facility is a mutually beneficial change that allows us to support them with their needs while at the same time utilizing a great location and hangar for our ongoing and growing requirements at the airport. The footprint and height of this facility will allow us greater access to the sort of projects we have traditionally handled only at our Toronto location or with our mobile installation team. We are looking forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship.”

  3. Chartright proudly celebrates 30 years of success

In 2017, Chartright proudly celebrates 30 years of success.

Founded in 1987 by three aircraft owners looking for efficiencies in the operation of their own aircraft, Chartright has grown into the preeminent provider of aircraft management and charter services in the country.

Starting with three aircraft tucked into the corner of a hangar at Toronto Pearson International Airport (CYYZ), Chartright today operates approximately 40 aircraft at six different bases across Canada and the United States. In 1987, Chartright staff numbered less than 10. Today, we employ 190.

Success of this sort, particularly in the volatile aviation industry, does not come easily. So what is it that has enabled this kind of growth? Several things…

    We are Risk Takers

When the opportunity presented itself, we went to Moscow, establishing a full operating and maintenance base, with Canadian employees stationed full-time in Russia.

    We are Innovative

When hangarage became scarce at Toronto Pearson, threatening to cap our growth, we acquired 55,000 square feet of additional space at the Region of Waterloo International Airport (CYKF), Hangar 53.

    We are First Movers

We invest heavily in customer service features such as 24/7 on-site operations and our Customer Service Portal, providing clients with total transparency respecting the operation of their aircraft.

    We are Bold

Recently, we ventured into the U.S. market, establishing a partnership with Pennsylvania-based True Aviation. Our American headquarters have been established at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE). To date, we have placed five U.S. registered aircraft in three American cities.

    Most importantly…

    We are a Team

In the final analysis, Chartright is a service company. The services provided to our clients are provided by all of us. None of the spectacular growth described here would have been possible if the face of the company that we present to our clients was inconsistent, unpleasant, or less than competent.

The winningest coach in NFL history, Vince Lombardi, said “Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” He was right and we, as a team, prove that year after year.

Aviation is a passion for many in our organization. Part of our team, mentioned too infrequently, are the many families who are patient and understanding with partners who pursue that passion. To those families, we say thank you for your contribution to our success.

    Thank You!

Thank you to our clients, employees and their families who have contributed to Chartright’s success. Happy 30th Anniversary!
